Part B - Products

Ship Battles

A mixed reality battleship game for Meta Horizon devices, with a single player campaign and online multiplayer.

What we collect

Account identity. When you sign in with your Meta account, we receive your Meta user ID and a single use proof token from Meta Horizon. These are exchanged for a player account with Unity Gaming Services, which issues us a player ID. That player ID is the identifier we store against your gameplay.

Your Meta username is shown in the game so you can see which account you are signed in as. It is held in memory only and is not stored on our servers.

If you do not sign in with a Meta account, the game creates an anonymous player account instead, and remains fully playable.

Gameplay data. For each game we record the players involved, the position of both fleets, every turn taken (target square, hit or miss, turn order), the level and campaign stage, the outcome, timestamps, your device time zone, the app version, and the platform you played on. In multiplayer a single record covers both players, so each player's fleet and turns appear in the same record as their opponent's.

What stays on your device. Hand tracking, headset cameras and spatial data are used on your device to render the game and place the board on your table. They are never transmitted to us.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

Purpose Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
Signing you in and keeping one account across sessions and devices Performance of a contract
Running online multiplayer, including matchmaking and connecting players Performance of a contract
Restoring your campaign progress after reinstalling or changing headset Performance of a contract
Understanding how the game is played so we can balance and improve it Legitimate interests

Who processes it for us

Processor Role Where it is processed
Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services) Authentication, matchmaking, multiplayer sessions Globally, including outside the EEA
Google (Firebase Cloud Functions, Firestore) Our game backend and storage European Union

These companies act on our instructions as processors. They are not parties we sell or share your data with.

International transfers. Our own backend stores data in the European Union. Unity Gaming Services operates globally, so some data is processed outside the European Economic Area. Where the destination country is covered by a European Commission adequacy decision we rely on that; otherwise transfers are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses in our agreement with Unity. Unity publishes its current processing locations here. Email support@atomicrealm.com for a copy of the safeguards that apply.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and its gameplay records for as long as you have an account, because that data is what lets us restore your campaign progress on a new headset or after reinstalling.

To have your data deleted, email support@atomicrealm.com and we will delete it.

Children

Ship Battles is rated PEGI 3 and is suitable for all ages, so children do play it. We collect only what is needed to run the game, as described above, and nothing that identifies a child by name. The game has no chat, no user generated content and no purchases.

A parent or guardian can email support@atomicrealm.com to access or delete their child's data.
